Maintenance

Riding dirt bikes is enjoyable as we know. The appropriate gear must always be worn.

Before riding our bikes general maintenance must be taken out.

Your bike is your friend so you would expect it to be nice to you being a well looked after bike.

not just oil checks and replacement filters, tyres chains and sprockets are it, To maintain a nice bike

it needs to have all the moving parts greased or oiled, including levers, foot pegs, gear lever ends, rear brake lever, fuel cock, headset bearings, linkage bearings etc. some of these maintenance points should be done from time to time and others after every ride.

Heading out

before you load up the bikes, remember good reliable tie downs are the go. loosing that expensive bike

of the back of the truck or trailer is not a good thing. Also the old tie down block above the front wheel

is a must.

Having a gear bag helps keep all that riding gear packed away in the one spot to, turning up to a ride

without your boots will park you in the car for the whole day.

fuel up and take extra oils and so on just in case some one needs a top up of something.

Food

Eat well days before heading out on the bike and keep up the fluids, turning up for a ride day dehydrated

and lacking energy will fatigue you quick smart. lots of red meat, vegies and carbies to keep you going strong.

Make sure that camel back is full to, and taking a drum of water in the truck for a drink or wash up after the ride is a plus, and don't forget to chuck in a medi kit for any injuries that may occur.

Ride safe

heading out on the track into unknown territory can be fun, but always ride with caution though. never hold the throttle wide open around bends or tracks you cant see through. there is a chance another rider or 4x4 is

coming the other way. you would rather have a full days riding on the track at a normal pace, than a short day

riding flat out like a cut snake.

Driving home

After a big day out on the bike the drive home can be tiring, try keeping some water and lollies

in the car with you to munch on, on the way back. or have a sleep if need be in the nearest motel.
